Social Repositioning

A social strategy that connected storage to the moments, memories and content habits younger smartphone users cared about keeping.

In shortStorage anxiety turned into #NoMoFOMOThree social IPs: #NoMoFOMO, The Eye, Dare to DeleteMoments millennials care about, not specs

01 / The business problem

For younger smartphone users, running out of storage was not a technical problem. It meant deleting a favourite photograph, missing the chance to record a moment or constantly deciding what was worth keeping. SanDisk needed to move beyond specifications such as storage capacity and transfer speed, and show how its products supported the way millennials created, captured and shared their lives.

02 / The way in

Make storage about the moments people refuse to lose. We translated SanDisk’s product benefits into familiar digital behaviours and social tensions. #NoMoFOMO connected storage freedom with the ability to capture and keep every important experience. The Eye explored how people document the same moment from different perspectives. Dare to Delete turned limited storage into an audience question: if your phone were full, which memory would you delete? Together, the ideas made storage feel less like a technical category and more like an essential part of a content-driven life.

03 / What we did

The strategy was developed across Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and paid digital, with each platform playing a specific role. Social posts and videos connected the product to everyday moments, while polls and participation formats invited audiences to share their own choices and storage anxieties. Product benefits were demonstrated through relatable situations instead of specification-heavy communication. This gave SanDisk a more conversational and culturally relevant presence while keeping the product’s practical value clear.

04 / What I led

  • Identifying the behaviours and tensions shaping millennial content habits
  • Developing the central communication approach
  • Creating the #NoMoFOMO, The Eye and Dare to Delete content platforms
  • Defining the role of Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and paid media
  • Planning social posts, videos, polls and participation formats
  • Collaborating with creative, media and production teams
  • Reviewing the work from strategy through final delivery

05 / What the work created

Repositioned SanDisk from a specification-led storage brand to a more relevant part of how millennials captured, protected and shared their everyday lives.
