AI + Marketing + Human Judgment

AI, APPLIED.

I was spotting patterns, questioning briefs and connecting dots long before AI started finishing sentences.

Now, I use AI to research faster, explore more strategic routes, prototype ideas and turn early thinking into something teams can see, test and improve.

The tools are new. The need for judgment isn’t.

Where it earns its place

FROM A MESSY BRIEF TO SOMETHING USEFUL.

01

RESEARCH SYNTHESIS

Use AI to organise large volumes of audience, category, competitor and campaign information into themes, tensions and questions worth investigating.

Practical applications

  • Competitor communication reviews
  • Audience-question mapping
  • Category and cultural trend synthesis
  • Review and comment analysis
  • Research summaries
  • Hypothesis development
02

STRATEGIC EXPLORATION

Use AI to challenge the first obvious answer, examine different strategic routes and pressure-test early thinking.

Practical applications

  • Problem reframing
  • Audience tension exploration
  • Positioning territories
  • Message architecture
  • Campaign ecosystem planning
  • Scenario development
03

CONTENT SYSTEMS

Turn a central brand strategy into connected content across platforms without losing the original idea.

Practical applications

  • Content pillars
  • Editorial systems
  • Channel-specific adaptations
  • Long-form to short-form repurposing
  • Content calendars
  • Brand-voice checks
04

CREATIVE PROTOTYPING

Make early ideas tangible before teams commit significant time or production budgets.

Practical applications

  • Campaign-route visualisation
  • Storyboards
  • Moodboards
  • Experience mockups
  • Landing-page prototypes
  • Presentation-ready concept development

AI-generated visuals are always labelled as concepts or prototypes, never as documentation of a real campaign.

05

AI AGENTS

Explore how task-specific agents can connect research, planning, content and reporting into repeatable marketing workflows.

Practical applications

  • Competitor-monitoring agents
  • Research-synthesis agents
  • Content-repurposing agents
  • Campaign-planning assistants
  • Lead-qualification workflows
  • Reporting and insight summaries

An area I actively study, prototype and apply to marketing workflows.

06

AEO

Help brands prepare for a world in which discovery increasingly happens through AI-generated answers, not only traditional search results.

Practical applications

  • Audience-question mapping
  • Clear answer-led content
  • Brand and entity consistency
  • Structured information
  • Authority and credibility signals
  • Content designed to be understood and cited
Beyond the chat window

WHEN AI MOVES FROM ANSWERING TO DOING.

A chatbot responds to an individual request. An AI agent can work towards a defined goal across several connected steps.

For marketing teams, this creates an opportunity to reduce repetitive coordination and make useful information easier to access. An agent could monitor competitors, organise new information, identify meaningful changes and prepare a structured summary for human review. The value is not removing people from the process. It is removing unnecessary friction from the process.

AI CAN MOVE THE WORK FORWARD. PEOPLE STILL DECIDE WHERE IT SHOULD GO.

AGENTS I’D PUT TO WORK.

Workflow concept

THE BRIEF INTERROGATOR

Reviews a marketing brief, identifies gaps, separates the business problem from the requested deliverable and generates the questions a strategy team should answer before beginning.

Workflow concept

THE COMPETITOR WATCH

Monitors competitor communication and organises meaningful changes by message, audience, offer, platform and creative approach.

Workflow concept

THE CONTENT MULTIPLIER

Transforms an approved long-form asset into channel-specific content while checking tone, message consistency and repetition.

Workflow concept

THE CAMPAIGN MEMORY

Creates a searchable record of campaign decisions, assets, feedback, learnings and results so valuable knowledge does not disappear across presentations and message threads.

Concepts I am exploring, not fictional client case studies.

The next discovery layer

BEING FOUND WHEN SEARCH BECOMES AN ANSWER.

People are beginning to ask AI platforms questions they once typed into search engines. Instead of choosing from a page of links, they may receive one summarised response.

That changes the challenge for brands. Visibility will increasingly depend on whether a brand’s information is clear, consistent, credible and useful enough for answer engines to understand and reference.

Answer Engine Optimisation, or AEO, brings together audience understanding, content strategy, SEO fundamentals, digital authority and structured brand information.

THE NEXT BATTLE FOR ATTENTION MAY NOT BEGIN WITH A CLICK.

The non-automatable bit

WHAT AI DOESN’T GET TO DECIDE.

01

WHAT THE BRAND SHOULD STAND FOR

AI can surface possibilities. It cannot choose the position a business should commit to.

02

WHICH CULTURAL NUANCE MATTERS

Patterns need context. The same message can mean different things across markets, communities and moments.

03

WHETHER AN IDEA IS ACTUALLY INTERESTING

Generating options is not the same as having taste.

04

WHEN THE DATA IS TELLING THE WRONG STORY

Numbers still need interpretation, business context and occasionally a healthy amount of scepticism.

CONTEXT. TASTE. RESPONSIBILITY. STILL VERY HUMAN JOBS.

Currently in my toolkit

TOOLS CHANGE. THE JOB THEY NEED TO DO COMES FIRST.

AI agents, automated workflows and AEO content systems are capabilities, not software products.

THE FUTURE OF MARKETING WILL NEED MORE THAN PEOPLE WHO KNOW HOW TO PROMPT.

It will need people who understand brands, audiences, business problems and the consequences of putting an idea into the world.

That is the part I bring with me.
