ASIAN PAINTS EZYCR8ANY BODY CAN DIY
Consumer insight · Campaign strategy · Digital film · Social content
DIY Confidence CampaignA confidence-led campaign that made DIY feel accessible to people who did not consider themselves naturally creative or skilled.
01 / THE PROBLEM
Asian Paints EzyCR8 made creative home projects easier with accessible, ready-to-use products. But product simplicity alone was not enough. For many consumers, DIY still felt like something meant for people who were naturally artistic, highly skilled or already experienced with craft. The challenge was not simply to demonstrate what the products could do. It was to help people believe they could do it themselves.
02 / THE INSIGHT
The biggest barrier to DIY was not ability. It was self-belief. People often rejected the idea before trying because they assumed they were not creative enough. The opportunity was to replace performance pressure with permission to experiment. If the campaign could make the first attempt feel less intimidating, the product could turn hesitation into participation.
03 / THE IDEA
ANY BODY CAN DIY A confidence-building platform based on a simple thought: DIY is not reserved for experts, artists or naturally crafty people. The campaign encouraged ordinary people to move past “I can’t do this” and discover what they could create with products designed to make the process easier.
04 / HOW IT CAME TO LIFE
From hesitation to making
01
DIGITAL FILM
The film moved from hesitation to discovery, showing that the hardest part of DIY is often believing you can begin.
02
PRODUCT-LED CONTENT
Social content demonstrated projects, product applications and achievable transformations, making the range easier to understand and try.
05 / MY CONTRIBUTION
WHAT I WORKED ON
- →Understanding the consumer barrier behind DIY adoption
- →Developing the campaign strategy
- →Shaping the “Any Body Can DIY” proposition
- →Connecting the central idea to the film and supporting digital content
- →Working with creative and account teams to carry the strategy into execution
06 / WHAT THE WORK ACHIEVED
The campaign repositioned DIY as something people could participate in, not merely admire. By addressing the confidence barrier directly, it gave EzyCR8 a clearer and more inviting role in helping first-time users begin creating.
